The River Cruise Line Information
DescriptionThe comforts of good accommodation combined with the flexibility and freedom of life on the water and of course, fine food, entertainment every evening and friendly service and hospitality.
Over the years The River Cruise Line have forged a wonderful relationship with Captain Wido, Helena and their amiable crew. We both share the same ethos by taking on board your suggestions and continually improving the holiday and service we give to you our passenger. We both have quality assurance at the forefront of our minds when planning and contracting our holidays and I firmly believe that this is the reason why so many people come back time and time again.

A very warm and personal welcome is assured aboard the Edward Elgar inland riverboat hotel. Having only 11 en-suite outside cabins, she nurtures a wonderfully intimate atmosphere within bright and modern surroundings. Included breakfasts and lunches are served in the panoramic restaurant, as are dinners which are served at your table. As you would expect, an open sundeck allows us to fully appreciate the passing scenery and play a leisurely game of deck quoits, whilst indoors a comfortable lounge bar provides the perfect venue for relaxing after sundown and to enjoy live entertainment on one night of your cruise. All 11 cabins are outside twin cabins with a shower, sink and toilet en-suite. The panoramic restaurant provides comfortable seating and superb views over the surrounding countryside at mealtimes. The galley astern of the restaurant serves breakfast and lunch on a buffet counter and dinner at your table. A small lounge area offers comfortable seating. Forward of the restaurant there is the bar and lounge area serving a wide selection of soft drinks, bottled beers, wines and spirits. All drinks are charged on a cash basis during your holiday. |

Thanks to its special measurements, the Mps. Princess is able to sail some smaller, but very interesting rivers and canals. It can also arrive at certain city centres, which for most ships are impossible to access, such as Berlin, Prague, Bruges and Heidelberg. The “Princess” has been renovated completely in the year 2000 and combines sophisti-cated comfort with cosiness in a unique way. Whether you take a seat at the pretty bar, the lounge or in the welcoming restaurant with piano, it certainly won’t take long to feel at home on board of this ship. The ship has a capacity of 100 passengers in 50 cabins. These cabins are located on two decks and provide 10,5 m2 space. The cabins are equipped with TV, telephone, mini-safe, hairdryer, air-conditioning and have its own bathroom with facilities. All decks, including the sundeck are accessible with normal stairs and with a chairlift. |

The 106-berth mps Lady Anne is a floating “home from home”. The owner and Captain of the ship, Capt. Wido Arts, and his partner Helena have brought together an experienced and amiable crew whose paramount importance is the comfort of our passengers. Indeed, it is greatly due to the warm and relaxed atmosphere created on board that our returning passengers choose to join another mps Lady Anne cruise. From the moment our luggage is lifted on board for us, to the time it's delivered back on shore, the crew of the mps Lady Anne have only our personal comfort and safety at the forefront of their minds. |

Further InformationTravel Arrangements
Free Local Departures
When you book your river cruise you can take advantage of our convenient and free regional coach departures. This means that you can join the holiday and travel in comfort on a modern executive coach, from a town or city near you. You will then travel with our coach from Dover to Calais on a comfortable ferry before joining the mps Lady Anne at the embarkation point as shown in the cruise itinerary.
Your Touring Coach
Experience has taught us that the quality of your vehicle will make a huge difference during the course of your holiday, not only on your journey to and from the ship, but whilst making the most of some of the exciting itineraries that we have arranged for you. That is why we only use chartered executive coaches for our cruise programme complete with toilet, coffee making facilities and air conditioning, ensuring that the time you have with us is as comfortable and enjoyable as it can possibly be.
What happens if a departure point isn’t available on the date you want to travel?
Don’t worry as The River Cruise Line has thought of that! If there is no regional departure point that is convenient for you we can arrange for you to receive National Express vouchers redeemable for your journey to and from Dover. This service costs just £17 per person, with a £9 supplement if travelling from Scotland. Please indicate your requirement on the booking form and we will forward your travel voucher with your final documentation. Please note: if you are aged over 60, or are permanently disabled, you may be eligible for a cheaper fare if you book direct with National Express. Please check departure times and points with your local National Express office before booking your vouchers.
Car Parking at Dover
We offer a superb value for money parking option for only £5 per day at Dover Eastern Docks. Simply call our reservations department to book or mark the appropriate box on the booking form.
Overnight Hotel Accommodation
Should you be unable to join our free regional coach departures, or simply prefer
to drive yourself to and from Dover Port, why not take advantage of our special rate that we have negotiated with hotels close to the port. For just £66 per night for a twin/double bedded room, or £55 for a single room, you can enjoy a good night’s sleep and awaken refreshed ready for an included breakfast prior to meeting up with your fellow passengers when the coach collects you from the hotel. An added bonus is that the room rate includes parking for your vehicle for the duration of your cruise (subject to conditions). Should you wish to select this option, please make your requirements known to our Reservations Department at the time of booking since the number of rooms available at this special rate are limited.
Eurostar Rail Travel
Should you prefer, we offer the option to journey to and from the mps Lady Anne by rail. Departing from London Waterloo, we journey via Eurostar and the continental railways network to meet up with our cruise ship. This faster mode of transport costs an additional £105 per person for the return journey from London Waterloo to Holland; whilst the return journey from London Waterloo to Germany is £140. If this option appeals, please call our Reservations Department in order that they may devise an itinerary to suit your requirements.
Independent Air Travel
The availability of low cost air travel to destinations such as Amsterdam and Cologne/Bonn, opens up a new dimension to your River Cruise Line holiday.
Flying can suit those on a tight schedule, or alternatively, introduce the flexibility
to lengthen your holiday. Should you choose to independently make your way to join the cruise ship, the price of your River Cruise holiday shall naturally be reduced. For details of how this option affects the holiday price, as well as precise information on our cruising schedule, speak to our Reservations Department who will be happy to advise.
